Tempelhofer Damm 9
former GAT area
Welcome back from your well-deserved summer holidays! In order to sweeten your comeback and the farewell of summer we invite you to our next Alumni meeting on Monday, September 30 2019!
We will visit one of the most spectacular buildings of Europe – Tempelhof Airport! During a roughly 2 hrs. guided walking tour, we will explore the significant history of the former airport from expression of Nazi ideology to vein of survival for an isolated city during German partition. The airport halls and the adjoining buildings, intended to become the gateway to Europe and a symbol of Hitler’s «world capital» Germania, are still known as one of the largest built entities worldwide.
We invite all of you to explore this historically protected landmark, learn about a significant part of Berlin‘s history and end the evening with a casual get-together with fellow alumni in a bar nearby afterwards!
What: Guided walking tour of Tempelhof Airport (in English) and get-together
When: Monday, September 30 2019, 18.00 hrs.
Where: Tempelhofer Damm 9, former GAT area, 12101 Berlin
